This tutorial will teach you on how to make a text glow effect on a plain text. I used ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS on this one. This is very easy so give it a try :)

STEP 1
Start with a simple text like this one below. I used plain black for the background and white for the text. Remember to put enough space for the effect.

STEP 2
Select the text layer and apply Polar Coordinates. [ Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates ] Click YES to rasterize the layer. Select the Polar to Rectangular radio button.

STEP 3
Rotate the image. [ Image > Rotate Canvas > 90CW ]

STEP 4
Apply Wind [ Filter > Stylize > Wind ( Method Wind ) ] Direction from the right. Click Okay and apply it again, this time, Direction from the left.

STEP 5
Rotate back like in step 3 and apply the Wind filter again in both directions.

STEP 6
Apply [ Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates ] this time, select the Rectangular to Polar radio button.

STEP 7
Add a color balance [ Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance ] Play with the color balance to achieve the desired color.

STEP 8
This is what you get:

EXTRA STEP
This is one is optional. You may add some motion blur for added effect. [ Filter > Blur > Motion Blur ]

And there you have it! Achieve this text effect by following 8 easy steps!
